Unlisted - NSE (National Stock Exchange)

– Bought NSE for clients @ 300 per share in 2008
– Added NSE @820 per share in 2018
– Added NSE @1020 per share in 2019
– Added NSE @ 1161 per share in 2020

Tax-Free Bonds

2011-2015

– Taper tantrum leads to a spike in Indian yields
– Clients invest 40-50% of their portfolio into tax-free bonds at levels of 8.30-8.40%
– Tax-free bonds issued by AAA PSU entities – NTPC, NHAI, PFC, REC, IRFC, IIFCL, etc

Commercial Re-allocations

– Added approx. 1500 cr of commercial RE between 2010-2020, keeping in mind the falling interest rates and asset class diversification
– Exited 300cr of assets with an average IRR of > 20%

Equity Allocation

2014

The expectation of reforms and development leads to a clear majority for the NDA in India
– Client allocation levels spike 10% higher than strategic points as tactical allocation with 3 to 5-year view
– Nifty was viewed as fairly valued and small and mid-cap were expected to do very well due to a past under performance overhang
